Tribunal declares Dakuku eligible, Ruling on Dakuku 's eligibility, the court ruled "We are of the firm believe that the petitioner has satisfied the provisions of the law and resolve the issue in the favor of the petitioner.". The application is unmeritorious and is hereby dismissed.
This blog recalls that on Monday the proceedings was delayed due to the appeal court ruling that mandated the tribunal to decide the eligibility case brought before it by the Petitioners, (Wike and pdp) challenging the locus standi of the petitioners (Dakuku Peterside and apc) as regards eligibility of the candidates for failure to comply with the electoral act on party’s nomination.
By this ruling, the court has put to bed the lingering case of eligibility which has delayed the proceedings in the past.
Apart from this ruling, the court also determined other petition brought to it by the governor and his party PDP to dismiss the case.
TRIBUNAL refuses to grant the prayers of PDP and Wike to strike out APC petition
against Police and INEC and was consequently struck out. The tribunal rules that the petition against INEC for refusal to obey the order for inspection has merit hence Motion sustained compelling INEC to comply.
Also today, Justice Ambrosa did not grant the application for Forensic analysis by the APC. It is mandatory for parties to be allowed access to Electoral matetials used for election. It does not require an order of the tribunal.
