Orji Uzor Kalu's FIFA Presidency Ambition Hits Road Block

Ohanaeze Rejects Orji Kalu's FIFA Presidency
AmbitionThe ambition of the former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu to become the next FIFA president has a huge step back after the youth wing of the Ohanaeze socio-political group rejected his ambition.
Daily Post received a statement from the group which was signed by Chetachi Ikpe, deputy chairman, Ohanaeze Youth Wing, Abia State.
The group questioned the integrity of Kalu while also revealed that they sent a list to President Muhammudu Buhari of the most corrupt politicians who should be investigated and the former governor’s name topped the list.
The statement reads in part: “It is with rude shock that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing read in a newspaper over the purported endorsement of Orji Uzor Kalu as the next FIFA President.
“We are aware that FIFA, as the World governing body in charge of Football, it is only men of proven integrity that can only manage its affairs not people like Orji Uzor Kalu.
“Orji Uzor Kalu topped the list of corrupt politicians that Ohanaeze Youths sent tobPresident Buhari for Speedy prosecution over the embezzlement of resources of Abia State, between 1999-2007, and should be in Prison not FIFA.I
“The recent purported endorsement of Orji Uzor Kalu by Ohanaeze Youths is not true as the apex Igbo youths want Orji kalu in prisons, which automatically disqualifies him to contest for FIFA Presidency”.
Meanwhile, Kalu can take comfort in the fact that former footballer, John Fashanu has thrown his back behind his ambition. The former Wimbledon star told NAIJ.COM: “We are rallying to get Uzor Kalu in that position because we believe in him.
“He is the only capable of running for that position in this country and that’s because he’s very charismatic, he’s a billionaire as a businessmen and he has been active in the game obviously in Enyimba on two consecutive occasions which has never been repeated.”
