The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has on Thursday, December 17,
released the November/December 2015 General Certificate Examination results. This
disclosure was made known by Mr. Olutise Isaac Adenipekun (FCAI, MNIM), Head of
the Nigeria National Office of the WAEC, in a press briefing.
Adenipekun, who announced the result in Lagos, said results of 235,542 out of the
237,154 candidates that sat for the examination were fully processed and released.
He also said 1,612 candidates (0.68%) had some of their subjects still being
processed as a result of some errors. Mr. Adenipekun, said 79,490 candidates
(33.51%) got six credits and above while 113,573 others (47.88%) obtained five
credits. He further mentioned that 79,490 candidates, representing 33.51% obtained 6
credits and above; 113,573 candidates, representing 47.88% obtained 5 credits. In
addition, 146,253 candidates, representing 61.67% obtained credits and above in 4
subjects, while 175,718 candidates, representing 74.09% obtained credits and above
in 3 subjects. A total of 200,304 candidates (84.46%) obtained credits and above in 2
subjects. He also revealed that results of 28,768 candidates, representing 12.13%,
were withheld for further investigation in connection with various cases of examination
malpractice. He stated that the outcome of the investigation will be forwarded to the
Nigerian Examinations Committee (NEC) of the Council for consideration after which
the decision reached will be communicated to the affected candidates.
