Okey Emordi sacked as Kano Pillars coach

The seasoned tactician has been dismissed as the handler of the reigning Nigeria topflight kings following string of poor results.
Okey Emordi has been fired as Kano Pillars coach after his side played a 3-3 draw against Lobi Stars in Makurdi.

The reigning league champions gave up a three-goal lead to let the hosts snatch a point in the keenly contested affair at the Aper Aku Stadium.
The former Enyimba boss replaced Baba Ganaru at the helm of the Pyramid Boys following his exit in January 2014 – and under his care, the team were sent packing in the preliminary stage of the Caf Champions League.
The General Manager of the team has also been shown the exit door with governor Abdullahi Umar appointing Alhaji Kabiru Baitu as new club chairman with the following members: Alhaji Abba Dambazau, Alhaji Naziru Aminu Wapa, Alhaji Garba Mohammed (Nawamba) and Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi Garo while Representative of Kano State Sports Council will serve as Secretary.
Pillars are ninth on the Nigeria Professional Football League log with 27 points from 19 games with eight victory and eight defeats.
