Former Nigeria World Cup star-Sani Kaita is set to make a sensational return to
hometown club Kano Pillars after he quit FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
“We are in discussions to sign Sani Kaita. He’s our boy,” Pillars spokesman Idris
Malikawa told AfricanFootball.com
Kaita signed a three-year contract with Ifeanyi Ubah but recently ditched the club and
petitioned the League Management Company (LMC) that the club failed to honour an
agreement he reached with them.
Kaita, who last season featured for Enyimba in the domestic league, captained
Pillars before the moved to Europe in 2008.
Pillars have been very busy on the transfer market as they have signed several other
players in their quest to successfully defend their championship after a labored first
round campaign.
