Boko Haram ambushed civilians in Borno today, killing one person and kidnapping two, a vigilante source said.
Islamist insurgents to Boko Haram today ambushed civilians in Nwajurko, Borno
State, killing one person, kidnapping two and injuring several others, a vigilante
source has disclosed.
The source said militants belonging to the dreaded group ambushed a commercial
motorist at Nwajurko near Sabon Gari in Damboa local government area of Borno State.
Three of the victims sustained gunshot wounds.
"Boko Haram members ambushed a Golf car with five people on board. The victims
were driving from Damboa to Biu," our source, Aliyu Dan Biu, told SaharaReporters by
phone. He added that the insurgents abducted two of the young make occupants of
the car.
The source stated that a patrol team of vigilantes had gone to the area and was still
waiting for the possible return of the attackers.
A source at Biu General Hospital told SaharaReporters that three injured people were
brought to the hospital in critical condition. He revealed that the patients had sustained
serious gunshots from their attackers.
Sabon Gari village is located in southern part of Borno State, about 78 miles from
Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
